Why is the FlutterFlow I already use now called FlutterFlow Studio?

We’re introducing a new AI-native app builder under the FlutterFlow name. The visual builder you already use is now called FlutterFlow Studio. It’s the same platform, just with a new name. Your existing projects and workflow remain in Studio.

Your projects and docs

4 questions

What happens to my existing projects?

Your existing projects remain in FlutterFlow Studio. You can continue working on them as you do today. You don’t need to migrate, recreate, or modify your projects because of the name change.

Should I keep using Studio for new projects?

Yes, if you prefer building visually and working directly with your app. Studio remains a good choice for new projects, especially when you want hands-on control over your UI, logic, integrations, and code.

Can a project move between FlutterFlow and Studio?

No. Projects cannot currently be transferred between FlutterFlow and FlutterFlow Studio.

Where can I find FlutterFlow Studio documentation and tutorials?

Existing FlutterFlow documentation, tutorials, and learning resources for the visual builder will continue to apply to FlutterFlow Studio. We’re updating references across these resources to reflect the rebrand.

How do pricing and credits work across the two?

One subscription gives you access to FlutterFlow, FlutterFlow Studio, and FlutterFlow Designer. Each subscription tier includes a monthly allocation of AI credits that can be used across FlutterFlow and credit-based AI features in FlutterFlow Studio. The features and credit allowances available depend on your subscription tier.

Will my current FlutterFlow subscription change?

No. Your subscription price is not changing. Your existing subscription now includes access to FlutterFlow, FlutterFlow Studio, and FlutterFlow Designer, with features and AI credit allowances based on your plan.

Can everyone on my team use AI in FlutterFlow Studio?

Yes. Everyone with a seat on your team can use FlutterFlow Studio’s AI features. Your team’s AI usage is pooled and shared by all its members.

Do Teams have access to the new FlutterFlow?

The new AI-first FlutterFlow experience does not support Team accounts at this time. Team account owners receive AI credit access. Team seat users who want to use the new FlutterFlow experience will need to purchase an individual plan.

FlutterFlow and Studio

4 questions

What can FlutterFlow do that Studio cannot?

FlutterFlow is built around an AI agent that can take your instructions and work on the app for you. Instead of configuring each part of your app yourself, you can describe the result you want and iterate through conversation.

What can Studio do that FlutterFlow cannot?

FlutterFlow Studio gives you direct control over your app’s implementation. You can build visually, work directly with your UI, logic, data, and behavior, connect APIs and integrations, and add custom code and packages. Studio also supports Flutter code export and web apps.

Does FlutterFlow Designer still exist?

Yes. FlutterFlow Designer remains available and is included with FlutterFlow subscriptions.

Which should I use?

It comes down to one question: how do you want to build? Use FlutterFlow if you want AI to do more of the building: describe what you’re building and let an AI agent handle more of the implementation while you guide the result. Use FlutterFlow Studio if you want your hands on the details: move the button yourself instead of describing where it should go, and work directly with your interface, logic, data, and code. Neither is a beginner or advanced version of the other. The choice is about how you prefer to build.
